Get Digital, Inc.
Get Digital Data, Inc.
Overview: The Encode Center™ software, architected,
developed, and implemented by Sterling Creek Software, is the first software solution
available designed to assist consumer electronics resellers in offering their customers
a CD ripping service.
The automated solution is used for converting music audio CDs into .mp3 format.
This application supports several manufacturers' robotic arms for simultaneously
picking and placing CDs into multiple CD drives. Once the CDs are loaded into the
drives, they are identified and the conversion process begins. The .mp3 files are
then transferred to DVDs or a portable .mp3 music player device. Finally, a personalized
and organized music catalogue is printed that includes CD cover art.
The Encode Center™ software application is the basis of Get Digital's daily processes.
Prior to the Encode Center™ application, Get Digital used multiple applications
for performing various technical tasks within their business. These tasks required
a need for highly-skilled/technical personnel to operate the robotics and software,
while limiting output and capacity.
With the development of the Encode Center™ solution, Sterling Creek Software was
able to double the output and capacity, while reducing Get Digital's labor expenses
by 50%. Get Digital's return on investment was immediately realized. This solution
also allowed Get Digital to run a “lights out” operation.
As of November 1st, 2005, Get Digital, Inc. and Sterling Creek Software have begun
a nationwide 25 store pilot rollout of the Encode Center™ solution to Circuit City
Superstores.
Technical Information: The Encode Center™ is client-server
application developed utilizing the Microsoft C# development language, in conjunction
with the Microsoft ASP.NET framework and a Microsoft SQL backend.
Bridgestone-Firestone Diversified Products
Overview: Sterling Creek Software designed, developed,
and implemented a web-based solution using the Macromedia ColdFusion framework and
applications development tools. The system presents an interface to manage and support
a commercial roofing warranty application process for over 5700 licensed Firestone
Building Products contractors.
The system provides a detailed, business rules-based solution that allows a warranty
application to be completed online. A centrally managed administrative application
was also developed to control the 20,000 plus online warranties that are completed
each year. This process increased the warranty application capacity from 12,000
warranties per year to over 20,000 warranties applied for annually. With reduction
in resource management and increased warranty applications, this has resulted in
over $1,000,000 in increased profit annually.
Return on investment was realized in the first two months of production.
Technical Information: The PIN system manages data
from several sources. Legacy data was analyzed and extracted from several systems.
Near real time data transfer processes exist between the PIN system and an internally
developed application that is based on a non relational data schema, UNIX based
system. Multiple services were developed to provide XML data sets that are processed
in a bidirectional fashion between the two systems.
